May 21, 2020
Since the implementation of our Pandemic Response Plans in early March, our Emergency Response Team has been planning and revising our own re-open plan, aligning with the ‘Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan’ as announced by the Government of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Health Authority on April 23, 2020. We have continued to deliver high-quality legal services to our clients, by most of our team working remotely. With the safety and health of our team and our clients in mind, we have successfully done our part to “flatten the curve” and keep everyone safe and healthy.
Re-Open Saskatchewan
As our province continues through its re-opening phases, we are cautiously doing the same, gradually inviting more of our team back to our offices in stages and monitoring that progress. We have developed this return to the office plan based on recommendations from health authorities, with measures to prioritize safety and health.
For You Our Clients
For now, we have decided to continue to limit public access to our physical offices. What this means to you, our clients, is that our interactions will continue to be through the use of technology, and to only meet face-to-face when absolutely necessary. A few of the many things we have learned during this pandemic are adapting to virtual platforms, processing matters electronically, and providing the service our clients are accustomed to, whether in person or remotely. To help us help you, we ask that you work with our Information Technology experts to meet with us remotely, and to arrange assistance with financial transactions and invoice payments by Electronic Funds Transfer. If you do need to meet with us in person, we will be providing you with detailed protocols ahead of time, prior to you attending at either of our offices.
Moving Forward
We intend to work through the progression of phases so as to once again reach a point where we can personally interact with you. For now, we understand that distancing remains crucial. We will keep you updated if further changes to the method of delivery of our services are required, as we are well-positioned to assist you with any challenges you may face moving forward with the provincial economic re-opening.
We invite you to contact any member of the McKercher LLP Team through telephone, email or video conferencing.
Sincerely,
Gregory A. Thompson, QC, McKercher LLP Chair of Executive
